One time, I took George’s glass class! I hope I can take it again. I hope I don’t get booted out for reasons that are not better than “CRITICAL.”
This is the first big “thing” I tried to make in glass class. I wanted to put the dead fishes on the plate as if they were fishes that one was meant to eat. But it would be FUNNY and GROSS because they were actually just dead feeder goldfish from the pet store! Haha! It all went very well except for the big, fuckin’ crack that ALL of my God damned plates got in them. HAHA.
As seen here… This one’s very pretty when lit from behind. I filled in the crack with RAINBOW colors to make it pretty. But I took (all of) these photos in a hurry while I was packing up my things and moving out of my last apartment.
This is a cool thing. The box-casting is totally classy, but it took me FORever to get a shine on it, mostly because Robert failed to tell me that I needed to spray the last buffing disk with the STUFF and NOT point the water on it or it was just totally pointless. So. Thanks a lot, Robert! No worries, though, Zeke and George helped me sort it out.
This was my big claim to fame! George loved my experiments with dead, dried fish under glass! They turned out great, with no dipping or painting of slips or glazes required! Now I think he’s having all the kids do dead fish, so it’s not really as exciting for me anymore. Poops.
Here’s a wishbone from Thanksgiving.
Then what I got excited about was firing Easy Ceramic Decals™ on glass! I think it’s rad! I want to do more with this whenever I hopefully take glass class again. Hooray!
And here’s a combination of fish and decal.
