I am most happy that I chose to take Tom Binger’s tile class. Not only do I like Tom personally, but I found that I really enjoy him as a professor as well. PLUS! Tom is a tile-master and I learned many interesting tile-making techniques from him, my FAVORITE, of course, being the wooden mold, for fast, regular tiles. Woo!
This is a series… of something. I made the scissor tile and really didn’t know what I was going to do with it. Tom and I decided to make it a Cut… series.
Cut a rug.
Cut and dry.
Cut it out.
Cut me a break!
Cut the CHEESE.
Cut the crap.
Cutting it close.
I also made a plaster stamp-mold of a middle finger. Tom told me that I was the first person ever to make a middle finger tile in his class. I told Tom that that was unbelievable.
INDEED. This is something I ask myself every day. Then I just say, “EFF YOU, existential quandary! I’m my OWN lady! I do what I WANT with my life!” is usually what I say…
I think I like the Frankenstein’s monster one best.
Tikis! Kon-tikis! I was taking a class during this same semester taught by Deborah Dickson. It was the CRAPPIEST CLASS. I really don’t think she knew what she was talking about! It really sucked! Wow! I’d go to work every day and complain about it. YEP. I liked the subject matter, though. Especially the Maori peoples.
